LEADERSHIP WOMAN PRACTICE CHARTER
”Whatever is progress for women is progress for all”. This is what international leaders said when they gathered for the UN summit meeting in 2005. Various studies have been published, particularly by the UN, which clearly point out that the development of our societies is eminently related to the involvement of women in social, cultural and economic life. In our masculine shaped world, women participate according to this historic mould whereas nowadays everybody knows very well that women and men are not identical. Each woman, as she becomes aware of her proper values, will develop an authentic and so far underestimated potential. By setting free her strong individual and collective creative dynamic she will contribute essentially to the development of our societies.
The “Leadership Woman Practice” Charter is meant to provide guidelines for this “feminine awareness”.
Clause 1: The individual values and resources of women and men are different. They do not depend in any way on cultural and/or religious considerations. It is necessary to highlight each specific quality and recognize their complementarities for a constructive development of the future.
Clause 2: Men and women are identically concerned by all the challenges humanity is presently facing. Therefore it is just and necessary that women participate actively in decision taking.
Clause 3: Women must empower themselves to take action and participate fully on an equal footing in each sphere of social life. They must have access to power to guarantee the sustainable development of the environment and of social and economic life.
Clause 4: Women worldwide must decide freely on the direction that they intend to give to their lives and assume entire responsibility for this.
Clause 5: To favour sustainable development, women and men must define together a new structure for how our lives function: values, distribution of the roles, career plan, maternity, paternity, culture, humanitarian commitment, etc.
Clause 6: It is the responsibility of each one to encourage the understanding and development of human values in all spheres of life.
Clause 7: The economic actors must ensure that their corporate social responsibility is in harmony with human needs. It is not the duty of men and women to serve the economy – rather, the economy must be at the service of humanity.
Clause 8: Women must become aware of what they are: woman, mother, lover, spouse, entrepreneur, friend, colleague… After giving birth a woman increases considerably her performances in every sphere. She is capable of devising very effective defence strategies to avoid conflict. She carries through her projects just like she takes care of the development of her child. She’s an excellent organiser, and she possesses genuine creative powers.
Clause 9: It is indispensable to recognize the potential of “feminine values” in our societies: feminine intuition, feminine sensibility, feminine creativity, feminine management, feminine staying power, etc. values which are also found among men.
Clause 10: The acceptance of diversity for human balance and human harmony must become the priority for women and men in this century.
